About the area
The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous (PVCI) leads the University’s Indigenous Portfolio, driving the development and implementation of Indigenous strategy across UWA.
The team provides strategic leadership for the School of Indigenous Studies and delivers specialised support to current and future Indigenous students, leading change while developing future leaders within communities.
Working in partnership with key units — including the Berndt Museum and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health — the Portfolio supports multi-disciplinary teaching, research and initiatives that strengthen Indigenous knowledges, student success and workforce outcomes.
About the opportunity
- Lead and coordinate high-level administrative operations that enhance academic services and uplift the student experience within the School of Indigenous Studies.
- Provide expert support to School governance committees, including the Teaching & Learning Committee and Board of Examiners, ensuring smooth, compliant and well‑organised processes.
- Work closely with academic staff on unit and course administration — including timetabling, curriculum documentation and financial processes — to support effective and efficient teaching delivery.
About you
- You bring relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent capability, backed by substantial senior administrative experience.
- You have a strong track record supporting governance committees, ideally within a university setting.
- You understand how university courses, units and academic policies work — and can confidently advise others on them.
- You excel in providing accurate, timely and comprehensive advice to students in a tertiary environment.
- You work effectively both independently and collaboratively, with strong communication and customer service skills suited to an Indigenous teaching environment.
