About the area

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education (PVCIE) is responsible for leading the University of Western Australia’s Indigenous Education Strategy which encompasses all areas of the University’s activities. The PVCIE provides strategic leadership of the School of Indigenous Studies and is responsible for the operations and strategic developments of the Berndt Museum, and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Through these entities the office has responsibility to deliver multi-disciplinary teaching and research programs and provide specialised support and services to current and future Indigenous students. 

The Centre of Best Practice in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention (CBPATSISP) works collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families, communities and organisations. The CBPATSISP promotes evidence-based suicide prevention practice that empowers individuals, families and communities and respects their culture.

About the opportunity

  • Coordinate, maintain, and report on the Centre’s social media platforms, including content creation and analytics.
  • Develop written, promotional, and video content to support the Centre’s priorities and activities.
  • Provide promotional and communications support for the Centre’s online and in-person events, including branding and webinar hosting.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Journalism, Health Promotion, Public Health or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Substantial relevant experience in internal or external communications, with a focus on digital content creation and evaluation (e.g., photo, video, newsletters, social media).
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and respect.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team.
