  • Base salary range: $134,288 – $142,099 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

 The Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division exists for the purpose of showcasing the best of UWA, ultimately enhancing reputation and driving student engagement and growth. The division consolidates all marketing, communications, engagement, and event activity into one team, enabling strong connectivity and improved effectiveness.

Within BMR, the Marketing Strategy and Insights team plays a central role in shaping marketing direction, focusing on brand positioning, market competitiveness, and student acquisition through data-led decision making and strategic insight.

About the opportunity

  • Lead the development and delivery of integrated marketing strategies that strengthen UWA's brand, support student recruitment and achieve strategic University objectives.
  • Drive market, category and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities, shape strategic direction and strengthen UWA's market positioning.
  • Translate audience, market and performance insights into evidence-based marketing strategies, messaging and customer journeys that improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic leadership across the University by developing marketing frameworks, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, and building marketing capability across BMR.

About you

  • Proven experience (typically 6–10+ years) in marketing strategy, campaign planning, or strategic marketing roles, ideally within complex or matrix organisations.
  • Strong capability in insight-led marketing, including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, market research, and performance analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and insights into clear, commercial strategies that improve customer acquisition and brand positioning.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering high-impact strategies, workshops, and executive-level recommendations.
