About the opportunities

Casual academic employees are integral to the teaching and support activities of The University Western Australia. Our casuals are engaged in a range of casual activities, including lecturing, tutoring, marking and lab demonstrations.

The position offered is negotiated between the casual academic employee and their supervisors and will be determined by the duties specified in their casual contract.

To be considered for a casual academic position, you will demonstrate the following essential criteria:

  • Formal tertiary qualification(s)
  • Relevant academic experience in the discipline area
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills

  • Submit your CV and a cover letter
  • Specify which School(s) you would like to submit an EOI for
  • Your availability to start as well as, if applicable, your potential end date
  • The minimum and maximum number of hours per week you will be available for
  • What types of casual position(s) you would like to be considered for

Your records will be retained on our academic casual register for 12 months. Expressions of interests will be assessed regularly and should an opportunity arise matching your skills and experience, you will be contacted by the relevant work area.

This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.

Registration will remain open until Sunday, 21 March 2021 however, it is recommended you register your interest as soon as possible to be considered for Semester 1, 2021 teaching.
