Senior Research Officer - Population Studies

  • Part-time (0.8 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
  • Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Raine Study is one of the largest successful prospective cohorts of pregnancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood to be carried out anywhere in the world. It is a rich resource for researchers. Our participants (approximately 5000) maintain a keen sense of commitment to the Raine Study. Prospective longitudinal data has been collected at multiple time-points over pregnancy, infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, and there are numerous stored biological samples. The Raine Study is a valuable resource for Western Australian, national, and international researchers. There are established collaborative research networks across a wide variety of disciplines, currently more than 150 researchers from 14 broad areas of research are utilising the Raine Study.

About the opportunity

  • You will design research, write grant submissions, ethics applications and research papers.
  • Make contributions on the strategic planning of the scientific portfolio within the Raine Study.
  • You will assist the Scientific Director and the Science manager with sourcing new funding avenues and take a lead role in completing funding applications and reporting requirements on behalf of the Raine Study.

About you

  • Relevant degree qualification in Epidemiology or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in health-related research.
  • Demonstrated experience of methods relating to epidemiological or cohort studies and public health.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in complex statistical analyses of health or related data.
  • Demonstrated experience of writing grant applications.

Special Requirements

  • A current National Police Clearance Certificate.
